My first trip to Mexico was back in 2014, arriving by cruise ship on the Norwegian Jewel.

The moment I set foot in the country, I was completely hooked. I’d never experienced water so blue and crystal clear before—especially coming from a lifetime of visiting Galveston, Texas, where the beaches are anything but transparent.

Mexico’s coastline blew me away. Even on days when the weather isn’t perfect, the beach access and scenery are some of the best in the world. After that first visit, I couldn’t stay away.

I’ve returned to Mexico over 30 times since then—sometimes by cruise, other times flying straight into Cancun and exploring down to Tulum, Playa Del Carmen, and beyond.

With each trip, I’ve gotten to know the region more intimately, picking up local tips, discovering hidden gems, and constantly adding to my knowledge of what makes this part of the world so special. And there’s always something new to learn or experience every time I go back.
